Air Products & Chemicals Inc. has received a contract from Wison (Nanjing) Clean Energy Ltd. to supply oxygen and nitrogen to one of its plants in China.

Terms were not disclosed.

Air Products said Monday that it will create and run an air separation unit and integrated liquefier in the Nanjing Chemicals Industrial Park. The unit will make over 1,500 tons per day of gaseous oxygen and over 1,900 tons per day of gaseous nitrogen. The liquefier will more than triple the company's current liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen production.

The oxygen and nitrogen will be supplied to a coal and syngas gasification plant in Nanjing, China. Air Products currently has two air separation units that supply Wison with gases to support operations at the industrial park.

Wison is a supplier of coal-based gases in China.

The new operations will be commercial in 2013.

Shares of Air Products & Chemicals gained $1.06 to $77.78 in afternoon trading.
