Renewable energy firms from Connecticut and New York City are teaming up in an $18 million deal to build a wind farm with 15 turbines in central Pennsylvania.

Gemma Renewable Power LLC of Rocky Hill, Ct. said Monday that it signed the deal with EverPower Wind Holdings Inc. to build the Patton Wind Farm about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Gemma Renewable will erect the towers and wind turbines manufactured by Gamesa and also design and build access roads, foundations, electrical connection systems and a substation.

Gemma expects to finish the 30 megawatt project in December.

Gemma is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Argan, Inc., a Rockville, Md. firm which builds energy plants and also owns Southern Maryland Cable Inc.
