A company says about 70 people will be put out of work with its closing of a northern Indiana factory that makes vinyl decks, fences and railing for the home construction market.

Atlanta-based Georgia Gulf Corp. has told state officials it expects in March to shut down the Royal Building Products factory in the Kosciusko (kahs-ee-AHS'-koh) County town of Milford.

Company spokesman Alan Chapple tells The Journal Gazette (http://bit.ly/ssIPlG ) that the extended weakness in the U.S. housing market has hurt demand and profitability of the products made at the Milford factory. He says much of the factory's production will be moved to other plants.

Georgia Gulf acquired Royal Building Products in 2006.
