FirstEnergy Corp. said Tuesday that Christopher D. Pappas has been elected to its board of directors.
Pappas is president and CEO of Styron LLC, a materials company based in Berwyn, Pa. Previously he held positions at Dow Chemical Co., DuPont Dow Elastomers LLC and NOVA Chemicals Corp.
The election of Pappas brings FirstEnergy's board to 14 members.
Shares of FirstEnergy rose 19 cents to $46.21 in aftermarket trading after gaining $1.09, or 2.4 percent, to $46.02 during the regular session.
