NEW YORK (Kyodo) -- Microsoft Corp. and Casio Computer Co. said Tuesday they have agreed to a multiyear patent cross-licensing deal.
The deal includes patents related to the Linux operating system being used in Casio products. The two have not disclosed the details of the agreement other than that the Japanese firm will pay a certain amount of compensation to the U.S. computer giant.
Casio utilizes a variety of Microsoft software for its products including industrial handheld terminals and business information systems.
