THE WOODLANDS, Texas. (AP) — Chemicals company Huntsman Corp. on Tuesday said it sold two manufacturing units to 3D Systems Corp. for $41 million.

3D Systems said the RenShape stereolithography print materials business and Digitalis manufacturing 3D printer product line will immediately add to its net income.

Stereolithography is technology for producing models and patterns using liquid resins. This business generated $7 million of revenue in 2010, the companies said.

The Digitalis manufacturing printer is a stereolithography rapid manufacturing system that 3D Systems said is in late stages of development.

Huntsman is based in The Woodlands, Texas.

3D Systems is based in Rock Hill, S.C.

Shares of Huntsman dropped 62 cents, or 5.3 percent, to $11.12 in midday trading. 3D shares slipped 79 cents, or 4.9 percent, to $15.48, as the broader markets declined.
