The Dow Chemical Co. says former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has resigned from its board of directors "in order to pursue other opportunities."
Those other opportunities appear to include a new television show. The announcement from Dow on Wednesday comes the same day that Current TV announced Granholm will host a new political analysis show starting in January.
It wasn't immediately clear if the two moves were related.
Granholm was named to the Dow board in March. Dow issued a statement Wednesday thanking the Democrat for her service. Her resignation is effective immediately.
Granholm served two terms as Michigan's governor. She couldn't run again in 2010 because of the state's term limits law.
