DP 1028 B2RF is an early- to mid-maturity, smooth-leaf variety with excellent yield potential, good staple and micronaire. DP 1034 B2RF offers a great combination of high-yield and fiber quality in a mid-maturity, smooth-leaf variety that can handle tough soils and conditions. Farmers looking for great yield potential in dryland situations should consider DP 1137 B2RF, a proven performer in the upper Southeast on soils where getting a good stalk size is a challenge.
Lower Southeast
Deltapine cotton varieties offer an average yield advantage of 73 to 154 pounds per acre over the leading competitors in the lower Southeast, according to three years of trials in the region. DP 1034 B2RF offers the same high-yield and fiber quality potential in the lower Southeast that is does in the upper Southeast. DP 1048 B2RF is a “race-horse” type variety best suited for productive soils and management systems, providing excellent yield potential plus improved staple and uniformity in the mid- to full-maturity markets of the Southeast. Also with excellent yield potential is DP 1050 B2RF, which is similar in maturity and fiber quality potential in a more vigorous-growing plant type with smooth leaves and suited for a wider range of growing conditions. And DP 1137 B2RF is a good choice for the tougher soils and environments in the lower southeast. New in 2012 is DP 1252 B2RF, a great fit on irrigated fields or more-productive soils in the full-season markets of the lower Southeast.
Upper Mid-South
Deltapine varieties offer 90 pounds per acre more, on average, than leading competitors in the upper Mid-South region, according to three years of field trials. The popular DP 0912 B2RF is a proven performer, offering the maturity, yield potential and fiber quality to help maximize production in the region. DP 1028 B2RF is an early- to mid-maturing, smooth-leaf variety with excellent yield potential and good staple and micronaire. DP 1034 B2RF is a mid-maturity, smooth-leaf variety with outstanding yield potential and an excellent fiber package from a length and strength perspective.
Lower Mid-South
Deltapine cotton varieties offer an average yield advantage over the leading competitors of 70 to 80 pounds per acre, according to three years of data. DP 1034 B2RF offers the same high-end yield potential and fiber quality in the lower Mid-South as it does in the upper Mid-South. It has shown to handle tough soils and growing conditions and deliver top-end yield when managed properly for growth control. DP 1048 B2RF, a “race-horse” type variety, provides excellent yield potential plus improved staple and uniformity in the mid- to full-maturity markets. Also offering high-yield potential with bacterial blight tolerance is the proven DP 1133 B2RF. And new for 2012 is DP 1252 B2RF, a great fit on irrigated fields or more-productive soils in the full-season markets of the Mid-South.
Texas and the Southwest
Deltapine varieties offer an average of 62 to 75 pounds per acre yield advantage over leading competitors in Texas and Oklahoma, according to three years of testing. Key varieties for Texas include DP 1044 B2RF, which offers a great combination of high yield and fiber quality potential on dryland and low-water irrigated acres. It is a smooth-leaf variety that has tolerance to both bacterial blight and Verticillium wilt. DP 1032 B2RF has the maturity and yield potential to fit on irrigated, high-yield environments in Texas, with shorter-season management. It has moderate resistance to bacterial blight. The new DP 1219 B2RF, from the recently announced Class of 12 varieties, is broadly adapted across Texas and Oklahoma with a great combination of yield potential and excellent fiber quality potential. And for the early-maturing markets of the Northern High Plains, the new DP 1212 B2RF offers similar yield and fit as DP 0912 B2RF, but with greatly improved fiber quality.
