It shouldn't be like this, but it is: We spend too much time at our desks. They're where we work. They're where we socialize. And they're where we do a lot of our music listening. As wrong as it seems to experience something that is supposed to be expansive and mind-blowing under flickering fluorescent lights with a mouse in hand, it's OK. The ennui that results from contemplating this modern condition shouldn't be so heavy as to force you to quit your job and start following Phish around in a biodiesel Volvo.
