Science Applications International Corp. said Thursday that it has received an order to provide weapons research to the U.S. military's Naval Surface Warfare Center.

The order has a five-year span with a total potential value of $49 million.

The work will be performed at the government's Crane, Ind., facility that specializes in developing weapons systems for surface combat.

Company shares fell 17 cents to $15.76 in afternoon trading.
