A. (CIPSA) has selected the Epicor 9 next-generation enterprise resource planning (http://www.epicor.com/Solutions/Pages/ERP.aspx) (ERP) solution to integrate and manage all manufacturing processes and boost company growth.
Founded in 1959, the Peruvian enterprise is focused on the packaging and manufacturing of recreational and sports balls, and school and office supplies. CIPSA also has a technology solutions division and currently runs operations with an in-house software solution that covered the company's basic business requirements for a number of years.
According to the general manager of CIPSA, two years ago, the company initiated a deep strategic planning process and discovered opportunities to improve internal processes, sales intelligence and supply chain management, which led to an increase in production capacity with business management becoming more complex. It soon became evident that continuing with internal development of its homegrown business software solution to include Planning and Production Control modules would create obstacles to current and future efficiencies and effectiveness for CIPSA, and that selecting a new ERP solution was the proper business decision.
CIPSA's general manager added, the company had very specific requirements in searching for an ERP solution; world-class software, that covered all the company requirements and fit the estimated budget.
"The Epicor team made a great impression during the software demos; we wanted to see as much as we could of the software, to have an idea of what the different products offer -- and the Epicor team always presented live programs," according to the general manager of CIPSA.
During the selection process, CIPSA evaluated two other software vendors in addition to Epicor. However, the clear focus of the Epicor ERP solution to the manufacturing industry was crucial in the final selection.
