Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will visit the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) on Wednesday, August 24 at 2:30 p.m. The Secretary General will learn about NREL’s International efforts including meeting key staff and researchers who contributed to the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation (SRREN). NREL Director Dan Arvizu and NREL Fellow Helena Chum were Coordinating Lead Authors and many NREL staff contributed to various chapters of this special report. A demonstration of deployable solar systems will follow the informational session.
