The chairman of Flotek Industries will retire, the oilfield services company said Wednesday, nearly a year after he stepped down as president and CEO.

Jerry Dumas, whose age was not immediately available, took the helm at Flotek in 1998. His retirement is effective immediately.

He retired from the role of president and CEO last August and was replaced by John Chishold, who is now the company's president.

Chishold is now Flotek's chairman.

Flotek in May reported that first-quarter losses broadened to $12.1 million, from $2 million the year before.

Shares of Flotek Industries Inc. fell 1 cent to $1.19 Wednesday.
