FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Europe's electricity transmission system is equipped to deal with weather conditions in the summer of 2010, European transmission grid operators group ENTSO-E said in a note issued late on Tuesday.
It singled out additional French power import needs, extreme North Sea region wind and stress on Greek cables as possible challenges to usual power flows, adding extra imports into Hungary and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia were also certain.
But the overall all-clear in its traditional summer outlook report, issued annually just as Europe moves into the summer period, should take out price pressure in the wholesale power market for the coming months and the third quarter.
