LONDON (Reuters) - European carbon emissions futures dipped on Wednesday as some participants closed long positions ahead of a UK auction next week and as demand for power sagged, traders said.
EU Allowances for December delivery were down 9 cents, or 0.59 percent, at 15.05 euros ($18.28) a tonne at 0644 GMT, with light volume at 1,069 lots traded.
Traders said the prospect of a UK auction of 4.4 million EUAs on June 10 and nervous financial markets had prompted the selling of EUAs.
