Inter Parfums Inc., which makes perfumes and cosmetics, said Friday second-quarter revenue rose 22 percent to $107.8 million, spurred by growth in the U.S.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters, on average, predicted revenue of $95.2 million. In the prior-year quarter, revenue totaled $88.6 million.

In Europe, revenue rose 16 percent to $91.9 million. In the U.S., sales rose 72 percent to $15.9 million.

U.S. growth was spurred by "deeper and broader international specialty retail product distribution as well as from new product launches."

The company plans to report net income for the quarter on Aug. 9.

Shares rose 72 cents, or 4.8 percent, to $15.75 during afternoon trading. The stock has traded between $7.69 and $17.77 over the past year.
