TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan can meet its target to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2020 through a combination of domestic action and sales of low carbon technologies overseas, a government official said on Tuesday.
It is Tokyo's first official remark on how to make emissions cuts over the next decade.
To meet this goal, the country would have to cut greenhouse gases by 340 million tonnes by 2020 from 2008 levels of 1.29 billion tonnes.
