The IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® recently bestowed one of its highest corporate honors to DuPont. (IPC is formerly Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits.)

Named for a former IPC Board Chairman, the Peter Sarmanian  Corporate Recognition Award honors an IPC member company in the printed circuit board industry that has taken a leadership role and made contributions to the industry while demonstrating support of IPC through participation in technical and/or management programs.

IPC is a global trade association based in Bannockburn, Ill., dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its 2,700 member companies, which represent all facets of the electronics interconnect industry, including design, printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing and electronics assembly. As a member-driven organization and leading source for industry standards, training, market research and public policy advocacy, IPC supports programs to meet the needs of the global electronics industry.

“IPC creates an excellent forum for professional development,” said Peter Irvine, global business director – DuPont Circuit & Packaging Materials.  “Our employees are exposed to people from across the entire industry value chain and so they better understand major trends occurring in the industry and how we, as a materials supplier, fit in this ecosystem. Through participation in standards-setting committees,  trade shows and other IPC-sponsored events, they actively learn how to get our materials recognized and qualified in the PCB industry. It's a great honor for our company and a tribute to the many DuPonters who have served IPC over the years.”

DuPont has been an IPC member since 1964. Thirty DuPont employees hold 81 committee memberships and three employees currently serve as chairs or vice chairs of four committees.
