DuPont Crop Protection (DCP) in the Philippines recently collaborated with the Dole Food Company to build a learning center for the remote farming community of Taboli in South Cotabato, the Philippines.
The facility serves as an expansion of the local elementary school, which has more than doubled its number of students from 100 to 250 since last year. As a multi-purpose space, the learning center also is a venue for community meetings.
“This project is our way of giving back to our consumers,” said Mark Swinchatt, DCP Asia Pacific regional director, at the opening of the learning center. “DuPont Crop Protection will be here to provide science-driven, sustainable solutions to improve the lives of people everywhere.”
Students and their parents attended the center's inauguration and received school supplies from DuPont and Dole company representatives.
Dole Philippines is a major DCP customer and partner in developing new products for plantations.
