MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Hurricane Celia, the first hurricane of the 2010 eastern Pacific season, weakened on Tuesday as it continued on a westward path out to sea and away from Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

A Category 2 storm with sustained winds up to 100 mph, Celia was about 515 miles south of the port city of Manzanillo and moving west away from land at 9 mph.

Celia was forecast to remain at hurricane strength until the weekend but was well clear of any tourist resorts. There are no oil industry installations in the area.
