Pittsburgh will be the scene for next month's Air & Waste Management Association's 100th conference and exhibition.

Pittsburgh will be the scene for next months Air & Waste Management Associations 100th conference and exhibition. The event will be at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center June 26-29 in a city that used to be one of the smokiest and, as such, serves as an example of the progress that association members have made during the last century.

Technical sessions will examine numerous topics including NSR reform, Title V permitting compliance, MACT standards, ambient and source measurements, environmental risk assessment and management, indoor air quality issues, pollution prevention, and trans-boundary air quality issues as well as ozone, particulate matter, and regional haze. The line-up of speakers includes Lester Lave, a Carnegie Mellon University professor and an expert on the relationship between environmental issues and political economies, and John Bachmann, associate director for science/policy and new programs at EPAs office of air quality planning and standards. In the exhibit area, innovative solutions will be unveiled by numerous companies including Adwest Technologies Inc., AeroMet, Airmetrics, Bee-Line Software/Bowman Environ, California Analytical Instruments, CH2M Hill, Cherokee Instruments, Flir Systems, Met One Instruments, Praxair Specialty Gases & Equipment, Scott Specialty Gases, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
