PERTH (Reuters) - BG Plc's Queensland Curtis liquefied natural gas (LNG) project has won an environmental approval from Australia's state government, Queensland State Premier Anna Bligh said on Friday.

The government's coordinator-general has completed a review of the LNG project near Gladstone and approved it subject to strict conditions, including the provision of affordable housing and other social benefits, it said in a statement.

BG is one of three groups planning to make a final investment decision on their LNG export facilities near Queensland's Gladstone port later this year. BG's QCLNG project, which will produce 8 million tonnes of LNG per year, is expected to cost between $10 billion to $15 billion.
