ConocoPhillips is improving production at its onshore gas receiving facilities in Singapore with laser-based moisture analyzers from SpectraSensors in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. With offshore platforms pumping a million or more cubic feet of gas daily, the efficient receiving and distribution of onshore receiving facilities depend on accurate moisture analyzer readings. "The analyzers in the field gives you an early indication of how much moisture is in the gas, enabling quality control of the gas that is put into the pipeline at the receiving facility," explains Amos Favorite, a moisture analyzer instrument specialist. Considered more dependable than conventional gas sensors, laser-based analyzers help eliminate maintenance and downtime.
