Diversa

Diversa Corp., San Diego, has obtained GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) approval from the FDA for edible oil applications for its Purifine enzyme. This food-application approval follows an earlier approval by the EPA for non-food applications including the use of Purifine for increasing the efficiency of oilseed processing for the production of biodiesel fuel.

Buffalo Gauge

Buffalo Gauge Inc.'s Gaszone Division, Buffalo, NY, is using Assured Automation's VA Series (valve+actuator) in its Neupmatic valve. The Neupmatic has been approved by the Canadian Standards Association, formerly the AGA, and is recognized by the Department of Transportation as a curb valve or emergency shutoff valve for the natural gas industry. It enables gas companies to shut off natural gas remotely from outside a building.
