StoneL Plans $2 Million Facility

StoneL Corp., a leader in networking and valve communications technology, has announced the construction of a $2 million facility near Fergus Falls, MN. StoneL's decision to build a new 30,000-square-foot facility was made by local company officials and supported by executives at Metso Corp., its parent company, in Helsinki, Finland. StoneL has demonstrated strong growth over the last 10 years. The company moved into its existing location in 1989, which was then about 4,500 square feet. In 1995, another 9,000 square feet was added. Since then, the building has been modified several times to accommodate more employees, new equipment, and increased production. "The No. 1 reason that we're moving out of this facility is because our operation is going to be automating extensively and we need new equipment and a larger facility to do that," said Wally Stommes, president of StoneL. "It will allow for future expansion, optimization, and more automation." The new building will be located just south of the existing facility, and the estimated project completion date is July 1. Production capabilities and offices are expected to be fully operational by October.
