Ashtead Technology has provided a Schmidt concrete tester and hammer set to carry out urgent testing at a leisure development on the outskirts of London, UK.

When Mark Tyler from Leicester-based Morrison Construction contacted the company to enquire about the availability of the concrete tester and hammer set, Ashtead Technology had the instrumentation delivered to the site by lunchtime the same day.

Schmidt concrete hammers provide a non-destructive test method for the assessment of concrete/mortar compressive strength and uniformity, as well as for the detection of weak spots.

The hammer is designed for testing concrete items 4in (100mm) or more in thickness, or concrete with a maximum particle size less than or equal to 1.25in (32mm).

The instrumentation was delivered fully calibrated and ready for immediate use.
