DENVER (AP) -- Vestas Wind Systems says it has an order for 139 turbines for a new wind farm on the eastern plains of Colorado.
Vestas said Wednesday the order is from Renewable Energy Systems Americas for a wind farm at Cedar Point, about 75 miles east of Denver.
The value of the order wasn't immediately available.
Vestas says the wind farm will be the second-largest in Colorado. It says Renewable Energy Systems, based in the Denver suburb of Broomfield, has a 20-year contract to sell electricity to Minneapolis-based Xcel Energy.
Xcel is the largest power utility in Colorado.
Vestas, based in Denmark, has three Colorado plants that manufacture wind turbine components. It plans to build a fourth Colorado plant in 2011.
