Peru to Impose Punitive Tariff on U.S. Biodiesel

Between December 2008, when the notice of potential dumping was filed, and June 2009, it was determined that biodiesel was arriving 31.9 percent cheaper than local production.

In Peru, the national government’s anti-dumping body has decided that a punitive duty of $212 will be levied on every metric ton of U.S. B100 biodiesel entering the country because of previous dumping claims. Between December 2008, when the notice of potential dumping was filed, and June 2009, it was determined that U.S. biodiesel was arriving 31.9 percent cheaper than local production.
