Cargill plans to construct a specialty starches production line for the pulp-and-paper and corrugated cardboard industries at its existing site in Efremov in the Tula region of Russia.

Cargill plans to construct a specialty starches production line for the pulp-and-paper and corrugated cardboard industries at its existing site in Efremov in the Tula region of Russia. Total investment is projected to be $17 million with production expected to start mid-way through 2008. As a result of this investment, dry starch output from the facility will increase to 90,000 metric tons per year. Cargill acquired the Efremov corn sweeteners plant in 1995 and has so far invested over $200 million in its modernization.
