Lanxess Corp.'s Material Protection Products business unit, Pittsburgh, has received EPA registration for several formulations based on the active ingredient benzisothiazolinone (BIT). These formulations include 10 percent and 20 percent BIT glycolic solutions as well as a 20 percent BIT aqueous dispersion. Lanxess will market BIT under the brand names Biochek BIT 10, Biochek BIT 20, and Biochek BIT 20D, which are microbial preservatives.
