President Obama begins his bus tour through the Midwest today. He kicks off the tour in Cannon Halls, Minn., and then travels to Decorah, Iowa. The President stays in the Hawkeye state on Tuesday, holding an economic forum event in Peosta. On Wednesday, he hosts townhall events in Atkinson and Alpha, Ill. On Thursday, he travels to Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., to begin his vacation.

The House and Senate are in recess.

House Hearings: TUESDAY—An Education and Workforce Subcommittee holds a field hearing in Greenville, S.C., on “Reviving our Economy: The Role of Higher Education in Job Growth and Development.”

Executive Branch: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano meets with the Canadian minister of public safety in Winnipeg today. Trade Representative Ron Kirk is in El Paso.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar tours Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine to talk about job creation and conservation.
