NAGOYA, May 7 (Kyodo) — Denso Corp. said Monday it will build a new plant in the northern Indian state of Haryana for about 4.2 billion yen to produce small motors for wipers and other auto parts as its sixth production base in the country.
The major auto parts manufacturer will supply the products to Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp., India's Tata Motors Ltd. and other automakers in the country to keep pace with India's expanding auto market.
The firm based in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, plans to start construction of the plant in mid-May and begin production in July next year, employing about 450 local workers at the plant.
