Ford cars and trucks earn high APEAL from J.D. Power All of Ford's newer retail vehicles earned fuel efficiency ratings above their segment average, according to the J.D. Power 2011 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study. APEAL measures customer satisfaction in design, content and vehicle performance. Eight Ford vehicles, including Fiesta, Explorer and F-150, ranked in the top three in their respective segments. Ford hybrids post impressive quality record The Ford Fusion Hybrid has now logged hundreds of millions of worry-free miles for its owners, proving out the durability of Ford's hybrid technology. Ford's hybrid taxi fleet, made up of both Escape and Fusion Hybrids, has logged more than 80 million miles in California alone during the past decade – more than quadruple the number of miles Toyota's Prius lineup has recorded. Ford Transit Connect Taxis headed to New York City New York City officials named Ford Transit Connect a taxi of today by green-lighting the fuel-efficient vehicle for use in the Big Apple. The New York Taxi and Limousine Commission approved Transit Connect Taxi at a regularly scheduled public hearing, putting New York on the list of big cities including Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia where officials have approved the nimble vehicle for use.
