NAM Names Senior Vice President for External Relations

-  WASHINGTON, D.C., - The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced today that Ned Monroe has joined the organization as Senior Vice President for External Relations. Monroe will be charged with mobilizing the membership as well as educating and engaging the general public on manufacturing issues. The organization also announced that Ann Heins has been promoted to senior vice president of member and board relations, and Jeff Pierce has been elevated to senior vice president for strategic development.

β€œWe are thrilled Ned has joined our team, and that Jeff and Ann will take on new leadership roles as we continue to advocate for a stronger manufacturing economy that leads to more jobs,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. β€œThis is a critical time for manufacturers, and we are ready to face the challenges ahead with this talented team. Ned will lead our outreach efforts on important issues such as overregulation, tax reform, energy and trade. Ann and Jeff continue to advance the NAM agenda through their strong and trusted ties with manufacturers nationwide and their extensive experience working with NAM member companies.”

Monroe brings more than 15 years of experience in staff and volunteer leadership positions with membership trade associations. Monroe served as national president of the National Association of Business Political Action Committees in 2006. He continues to serve the American Society of Association Executives, currently as a board member for both the Government Relation Section Council and the political action committee.

Before joining the NAM, Monroe was senior vice president of government affairs for the National Automatic Merchandising Association where he was responsible for all legislative and regulatory activities at the local, state and federal levels. Earlier in his career, he was the vice president of political affairs at the National Restaurant Association and worked for the Associated Builders and Contractors.

Heins and Pierce have distinguished careers working at the NAM on behalf of manufacturers. Heins, who has been with the NAM for 27 years, was most recently vice president of field and board advocacy. Pierce has been with the NAM for 14 years, serving as vice president of the NAM’s field division.
