The Gönyü combined cycle power plant in Hungary was officially inaugurated on June 27 in the presence of State President Pál Schmitt. The plant started commercial operation on May 12 of this year. Siemens Energy built the power plant for E.ON on a turnkey basis. Thanks to its high efficiency of over 59 percent and low nitrogen oxide emissions it is the country's most ecofriendly power plant.
