kbb.com says Ford makes affordable cool

Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com editors have compiled their 2011 Top 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000 list and two Ford vehicles made the cut. The “Euro-sweetened 2012 Focus,” kbb.com says, offers “head-turning looks, sporty handling and a healthy standard equipment list in an efficient and affordable package.” And the editors expect the 2011 Fiesta will be a perennial favorite: “Its European looks and well-crafted interior outclass everything else in the category, and its sharp driving dynamics and nimble handling impress us every time we get behind the wheel.” Click here for the full release.

Ford helps Michigan children have hunger-free summer

Forgotten Harvest and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan are partnering with Ford Motor Company Fund, Charter One Foundation and other corporate and community donors to provide 2 million meals to hungry southeast Michigan children this summer through their “Hunger Free Summer” campaign. During the 10-week campaign, donations will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 by Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. Charter One, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hiller’s and The Young Foundation also will provide funding. And Hiller’s and Hollywood Market shoppers can add a Hunger Free Summer donation to their bill at checkout registers.
