House Vote to Expand Energy Sources Sets the Stage for Economic Growth

-  National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Senior Vice President for Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse issued the following statement today after the House of Representatives passed the Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act (H.R. 1230):

“Today’s bipartisan support for developing our domestic energy resources in the Outer Continental Shelf of the Gulf of Mexico and in Virginia is an important step to encourage manufacturing job growth and competitiveness. Developing domestic energy sources not only creates jobs directly related to exploration and development but also creates support jobs throughout the manufacturing community.

Manufacturers support increased development of all sources of energy and are pleased with today’s vote for jobs. We encourage the Senate to follow this bipartisan approach toward energy policy.”
