EPA and MDEQ Public Hearing and Information Sessions on Romulus Hazardous Waste Facility and Injection Wells (MI)

(CHICAGO – May 12, 2011)

WHAT: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing and two information sessions next week on two federal permits for injection wells, a state air permit, and a state hazardous waste license for the proposed Environmental Geo-Technologies hazardous waste facility in Romulus, Michigan.

WHEN: Question-and-answer sessions are set for 10 a.m. to noon and for 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 16. A public hearing to take comments for the record is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 17.

WHERE: The three events will be at the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport Hotel, formerly the Crowne Plaza Hotel, at 8000 Merriman Road, Romulus, Michigan.
