FANUC HQ Internal Operation at 100%, Strategic Plan in Place For External Issues
Three weeks have now passed since the earthquake and tsunami
in Japan, and our thoughts are still with the victims, their
families and our customers that were affected. While the northeast
coast of Japan has a lot of work ahead in rebuilding, FANUC HQ in
Japan, located 250 miles southwest of the earthquake's epicenter,
is operating at 100%. This horrible natural disaster has not
hindered FANUC HQ’s ability to operate internally. While
FANUC HQ in Japan is fully operational, due to this horrific event,
there are external factors that are affecting most business
operations in Japan. As always, FANUC wants to provide complete
transparency to our customers. There are a couple of issues outside
of FANUC HQ that are impacting our normal business operations.
However, FANUC HQ has responded quickly and diligently to address
these issues and has strategic plans in place to be able to
continue to support our customers.
First, there are rolling blackouts in the kanto area affecting
most companies, and they are also occurring at FANUC HQ. To
compensate for this, FANUC HQ has a strategic production schedule
in place that allows us to continue to produce product at the same
rate we have always been.
Second, some of our component suppliers were more directly
affected by the earthquake and tsunami. FANUC HQ is working with
each supplier to minimize any potential impact to the supply chain.
Additionally, FANUC FA America sources quality components locally
which will minimize the impact of this situation.
FANUC FA America continues to have the largest inventory of CNC
systems and parts in the Americas. Our main goal during the
aftermath of this natural disaster is to minimize any impact to our
customers – and we will do that. We take pride in our leading
position in the industry and the fact that we are known for our
reliability – from our products to our service & support
through to our management and staff. You can always rely on
FANUC.
