Quarch Technology Ltd - specialists in test automation - today announced a partnership with SerialCables LLC. The deal will give Quarch access to a substantial new customer base and help to sell its products into new segments of the market. Customers will be able to purchase directly from SerialCables while maintaining a direct warranty and support service from Quarch.

SerialCables will be selling the entire Torridon range, including Quarch's latest 'Cable Pull Modules'. These modules allow automated hot-plug and fault injection for a variety of interfaces including; Mini SAS and Ethernet, with USB 3.0 to follow soon.
Cable Pull Modules implement high speed switching of data signals and sequencing logic to emulate the insertion and removal of a cable from a system under test. In addition to automation of cable insertion the module has fault injection capabilities providing a sophisticated method for testing Illegal Topologies, intermittent and hard faults, and error.

The Mini SAS cable pull module can be seen in action at SNW (October 11th - 14th). Industry leading storage subsystem provider, Xyratex, will be running a hands-on lab which includes a Mini SAS module to inject SAS faults into their system. This setup demonstrates the abilities of the cable-pull module and the resiliency of the Xyratex enclosures.
