A Canadian steel pipe manufacturer is opening a facility in Thomasville.

Gov. Bob Riley said Thursday that Lakeside Steel Inc. will build a factory and create 120 new jobs in the southwest Alabama town. The project is expected to begin this fall and be completed by the end of 2011.

Once built, the factory will be the largest industrial employer in Thomasville. Lakeside Steel officials said they chose Thomasville because it is "conducive to a productive and profitable operation for years to come."

The company is based in Ontario, Canada. It sells products to oil and gas, mining, automotive, commercial and industrial supply companies.
