Wavelink Corporation (www.wavelink.com (http://www.wavelink.com) ) today announced the release of Avalanche Managed Services (http://www.wavelink.com/products/managed_services.aspx) , which allows customers to leverage the industry-leading mobile device management (http://www.wavelink.com/solutions/management.aspx) capabilities of Wavelink Avalanche@ without taxing their internal IT staff. Avalanche Managed Services (http://www.wavelink.com/products/managed_services.aspx) eliminates the setup, monitoring and day-to-day administration of the wireless enterprise via a Wavelink expert. This fully managed service takes the pressure off companies to deploy servers and maintain the system themselves, yet provides all the benefits of ensuring their devices are managed efficiently and securely.

With Avalanche Managed Services, a Wavelink expert will set up, configure and monitor Avalanche, so that the subscriber is free to focus on other projects without the added responsibility of wireless system administration. Using the Avalanche console, Wavelink will remotely manage each subscriber's mobile devices, including security configurations, software packages and other operational settings.

Across both local and wide area networks, Avalanche Managed Services improves the productivity of mobile workers, increases security and reduces the total cost associated with owning and managing mobile devices. Avalanche also continues to support devices from the widest range of manufacturers. Wireless network management will be available for customers looking to manage switches and access points.

"Most companies recognize the importance of managing their fleet of mobile devices, but they just don't have the resources or expertise to keep up with the rapid growth in the number of mobile devices within their organization," said Peter Cannon, senior product manager for Wavelink. "With Avalanche Managed Services from Wavelink, they now have an easy way to ensure that each device is proactively managed so it runs efficiently, remains secure and maintains compliance with security regulations."

Organizations utilizing Avalanche Managed Services can tailor it to their specific needs including implementation services, provisioning, scheduled updates for devices, help desk support, scheduled reports and performance statistics of interest. It also provides security features such as digital certificates and authenticated logins. Wavelink will introduce this new offering during a live webinar on Sept. 16.
