SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) -- Motorola Inc. said it named John Bucher corporate vice president of strategy for its mobile devices and home business.
In his new appointment, which begins immediately, Bucher will help grow Motorola's smartphone business.
Motorola said Bucher has extensive Wall Street experience and spent 14 years as an equity research analyst focused on the communications technology and services sector.
He also spent several years as a director-level manager with two wireless carriers now owned by Verizon Wireless.
Motorola's shares slipped 15 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $6.96 Monday.
