Joyce Takes Over As CEO Of Amkor

Provider of chip assembly and testing services on Friday said President Ken Joyce assumed additional title of CEO as part of succession plan announced in June.

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) -- Amkor Technology Inc., which provides chip assembly and testing services, on Friday said President Ken Joyce assumed the additional title of CEO as part of a succession plan announced in June.

Joyce replaces founder James Kim, who was named executive chairman. Joyce also joined the board.

Joyce, 62, joined Amkor in 1997 as chief financial officer. He became chief administrative officer in November 2007. He was named chief operating officer in February 2008 and became president three months later.
