NEWELL, W.Va. (AP) -- The Homer Laughlin China Company has hired about 100 workers and recalled about 50 who were laid off earlier this year to meet increasing demand for its FiestaWare products.
Homer Laughlin President Joe Wells III says only a few of the laid-off workers decided not to return.
Wells says the increase in orders is likely seasonal as the holidays approach. But he says it's good for the local economy and for the workers who'll have jobs for the holidays.
