SuperGen Scientific Officer To Resign

DUBLIN, Calif. (AP) -- Cancer drug maker SuperGen Inc. said Monday its Chief Scientific Officer David Bearss will resign effective Oct. 16.

Bearss will return to academic cancer research at the University of Utah, the company said, and will continue as a biology consultant to SuperGen. Michael McCullar, SuperGen's vice president of strategy and operations, will return to his role as head of discovery operations.

SuperGen said McCullar held that role from 2006 to 2008.
