IMEC Selects New President And CEO

Luc Van den hove named new President and Chief Executive Officer of the independent research center in nanoelectronics and nanotechnology, effective July 1.

LEUVEN, Belgium -- IMEC's board of directors has named Luc Van den hove as new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2009.

Luc Van den hove started at IMEC as a team leader in silicide and interconnect technologies research, and become manager of IMEC's micro-patterning group in 1998. He has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2007.

"The board is excited to have Luc Van den hove as new CEO. Luc combines strong personal skills with experience, having served in several senior leadership roles at IMEC. He has been instrumental in bringing IMEC’s silicon scaling research program to a world-leading research partnership in semiconductor technology. We look forward to working closely together with him and his team," said Anton De Proft, Chairman of IMEC's Board.
