Ford Mexico President, CEO Retiring

Louise Goeser will retire as president and chief executive of Ford of Mexico, effective Nov. 1, and will be succeeded by Eduardo Serrano, Ford of Mexico's chief operating officer.

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- Ford Motor Co. said Louise Goeser will retire as president and chief executive of Ford of Mexico, effective Nov. 1, and will be succeeded by Eduardo Serrano, Ford of Mexico's chief operating officer.

Goeser, 55, has worked for the automaker since 1999, beginning her career there as vice president of quality. She was appointed president and CEO of Ford of Mexico in January 2005.

Serrano, 49, has worked for Ford since 1982 and has held several key leadership positions in both the U.S. and Mexico.

Shares of Ford rose 7 cents to $2.22 in early afternoon trading Wednesday.
