SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Somaxon Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Monday it named Tran B. Nguyen vice president and chief financial officer.
Nguyen was most recently chief financial officer at Metabasis Therapeutics Inc. The prior chief financial officer, Meg M. McGilley, was laid off almost one year ago as part of a cost-cutting measure that included six other job cuts, including two other senior vice presidents.
Richard Pascoe, president and CEO, had taken on McGilley's responsibilities.
The company also promoted Jeffrey Raser to the newly created role of senior vice president and chief commercial officer. Brian Dorsey was promoted to senior vice president of technical operations and Matthew Onaitis was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel.
Shares of Somaxon fell 13 cents to $8.39.
