Former Nora Therapeutics CEO Joins Endo Pharma

Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc. said Friday it hired former Nora Therapeutics CEO Julie McHugh as its new chief operating officer.

CHADDS FORD, Pa. (AP) -- Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc. said Friday it hired former Nora Therapeutics CEO Julie McHugh as its new chief operating officer.

The company said McHugh will assume her new role on Monday. Endo has not had a chief operating officer since 1992. President and CEO David Holveck was the last to hold that role, as he was president and COO before being promoted.

Before working at Nora, a biotech startup backed by venture capital money, McHugh spent 12 years at Johnson & Johnson.

Endo Pharmaceuticals is a specialty pharmaceutical company involved with drugs used to treat and manage pain, prostate cancer and the early onset of puberty in children.

Its shares rose 22 cents to $23.67 in morning trading Friday.
